Bloomingdale’s launches three new homeware concepts
A shift in season outside often means an update or two inside as well. For spring 2021, Bloomingdale’s introduces three new homeware concepts; Palm Bay, Color Spectrum and Bohemian Dreamscape, offering curated selections of furniture, accessories and soft furnishings.
Capable of transporting one to a tropical paradise whilst at home, comes Palm Bay, a beach-chic, boho concept that wouldn’t look out of place on the shores of Bali. Think natural wicker accessories, rattan accent chairs, straw lampshades and macrame embroidered cushions or pouffes for touchable textures in every corner. An authentic, free-spirited feel for any space, made for modern living. The must-have items from the edit? Tribe’s bamboo drinks trolley and rattan armchair are real standout pieces making neutrals feel new again.
For those who wish to brighten up their surroundings for summer, Color Spectrum brings a celebration of energetic shades to areas in need. From Moroccan-inspired rugs and cushions, to relaxed throws trimmed with tassels, this selection feels fun, vibrant and as if collected from countries all over the world. Vivid, large feature vases in yellow and turquoise add a touch of pigment to shelving or tables and hippy-esque stitching on armchairs and pillows bring comfy spaces to life for the new season.
Somewhere between the serenity of Palm Bay and the glow of Color Spectrum lies the third concept, Bohemian Dreamscape; a warm but washed-out take on faded pastels and unpolished pieces for the home. Giving a rustic and raw edge to everyday items, this edit is imperfectly unrefined and refreshing. Oversized terracotta vases feel modern again and homely handcrafted crockery feels organic, raw and full of character for an interesting tablescape. Clashing cushion textures and throws in faded burnt oranges and warm reds complete any cozy sitting rooms for an authentic feel.
The three new homeware concepts are now available to shop online and in-store at Bloomingdale’s Home.

Bloomingdale’s Home reveals ‘Designed For Living’ collection
Designed For Living, Designed For You. Bloomingdale’s latest homeware campaign is a focus on luxury homeware, furniture, and interior trends that combine functionality and a contemporary aesthetic to instantly upgrade your home.
Soft, tranquil creams and stone greys set the tone for serene and sophisticated living spaces – an understated palette creates a blank canvas, a running undertone across the new furniture collections for living, bedroom, bathroom and dining areas. Home decor and accessories from Eichholtz, L’Objet and Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, inject texture and seasonal color whilst Bloomr complements spaces with long-lasting faux florals and plants. A range of statement pieces and accessories, including bookends, vases, candlesticks and ornaments offer the perfect addition to transform a room by drawing the eye to its exquisite design and pattern.
Eichholtz’s navy blue velvet 3-seater sofa, a standout piece for the family living area, flaunts a simple and slick design that seamlessly blends in with a pre-decorated space, and dark wood paired with hints of warm chrome set the mood with softly curved armchairs courtesy of Adriana Hoyos Furnishings.
For luxury bathroom settings, Abyss and Habidecor bath towels and mats add a spa-like opulence to everyday with turmeric, subtle orange and gold accents adding warmth to soft cream.
Mangroves 4 Mankind partners with Bloomingdale’s Dubai
Mangroves 4 Mankind (M4M), a UAE-based environmental social enterprise dedicated to the preservation and protection of mangrove ecosystems in every coastal city around the world, today announced a partnership with Bloomingdale’s Dubai department store to create ‘Paint It Green’, launching an environmentally focussed art collection, on the occasion of World Mangrove Day. This initiative is aimed at raising awareness around the importance of mangrove ecosystems to humanity, by fostering creativity within the local community.
The collection, which will be showcased on the Bloomingdale’s UAE website from mid August 2020, has been curated with the support of Alia Zaal Lootah , who is an artist, curator and researcher focusing on the development of the art scene in the UAE. The 6 featured artists include internationally renowned Emarati Artist Fatma Lootah , contemporary artist Robyn Chislett , multi disciplinary artist Ahmad Saeed AlAreef AlDhaheri , Dana Kamber , Meena Al Muheirbi , and forensic artist Ghanim Mubarak. The eight unique pieces of art which will be on sale are inspired by the beauty of mangroves and their connection to humanity. All proceeds for the sale of this collection will go towards the support of local artists and mangrove reforestation initiatives under the M4M umbrella, with the majority donated to the latter.
Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan , co-founder of Mangroves 4 Mankind, commented: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Bloomingdale’s Dubai to launch this creative, innovative and environmentally focused initiative, which aims to raise awareness on the importance of preserving the mangrove ecosystem and increase the forest space that these trees occupies.
Sheikha Shamma added: “It is our collective duty to contribute to the wellbeing and longevity of our planet. Our hope is that the Paint It Green campaign will encourage local artists to take inspiration from the natural and the unique beauty of the mangroves around us and share their creations with the world, while playing an active role in the preservation of our environment. This is the first of many initiatives that we look forward to launching on our journey towards tackling climate change and building a more sustainable future for generations to come.”
AhlamBolooki, co-founder of Mangroves 4 Mankind, commented: “This campaign aims to raise funds for a mangrove reforestation project that we have in the pipeline, by also supporting our community of world class local artists in the UAE. The initiative is a reminder of how artists, and those who appreciate the arts, are and will always be the drivers of real change”.
