Why GROHE Baulines is a smart all-rounder? Let’s find out…
The first big love, the first own car, the first own apartment: There are milestones in life that we never forget and that shape us forever. Our own home in particular allows us to take a big step towards self-realisation because this is where our very personal style comes to the fore – in the furniture, the wall color and matching accessories. Each apartment is as individual as its residents and has specific requirements in terms of functionality and design. Whether you have to deal with small rooms or a small budget – interior design often poses challenges. GROHE offers a solution for every lifestyle: The relaunched Baulines faucet is the ideal solution for anyone who seeks high quality and aesthetic design at an affordable price.
“Baulines represents an entry-level product into the versatile world of GROHE. Above that, it also appeals to consumers whose residential projects follow the Micro Living trend. Especially in urban areas space becomes scarce. With intelligent, condensed living concepts which are reduced to essential elements, we can make efficient use of limited space and still enhance our quality of life. Baulines is the perfect product for people who are searching for this kind of simplicity and minimalism”, explains Patrick Speck, Leader, LIXIL Global Design EMENA.
Modern, minimalist, and functional: GROHE Baulines is a smart all-rounder
Thanks to the relaunched design of Baulines bathroom faucets, users benefit from an increased comfort zone: The extended angle with the tapered spout ensures a more convenient water flow, thereby preventing water splashing when washing your hands.
Moreover, the product offers further advantages in terms of safety and health: Thanks to its innovative zinc die casting process at the LIXIL plant in Klaeng, Thailand, one of the most sustainable plants in Southeast Asia, the faucet offers safe water enjoyment. Not only is the surface of the faucet seamlessly closed so that impurities cannot enter, there are also dedicated inner waterways to make sure that the water is lead- and nickel-free. Above that these inner waterways have no contact to the body material which result in a barrier between hot water and the external surface to avoid scalding on hot surfaces. Thus, extra safe, especially for households with children.
Enabling consumers to lead a more eco-conscious lifestyle is GROHE’s biggest lever for sustainability and therefore particularly important for GROHE when developing new products. That is why the relaunched Baulines bathroom faucets are equipped with water-saving GROHE EcoJoy technology. A flow restrictor reduces water consumption from ten liters per minute to just over five liters. An aerator enriches the water with air, ensuring the same voluminous experience as with conventional faucets. This way, everyone can easily make their contribution to save water in everyday life without compromising on comfort.
Everyone who has decided on the GROHE Baulines sink mixer can choose the matching Bau Ceramic and matching Bau Accessories to create a complete bathroom concept. All elements are coordinated in form and function and, in combination, create a harmonious integrated solution for your home spa.
So let the unique (love) story begin with your new GROHE Baulines.

What 42nd edition of HostMilano has in store for us? Let’s find out…
Fiera Milano is in constant contact with its partners under a phygital perspective. Waiting for the in-person event that will take place safely from October 22 to 26, 2021, it is essential to understand the future of the HoReCa sector.
Innovation, sustainability, training: this year, more than ever, these are the keywords that will echo through the pavilions of Fiera Milano Rho from October 22 to 26, 2021. Now in its 42nd edition, HostMilano is the global expo that, in a single location and for five days in a row, brings together the latest news from the hospitality and travel sectors ranging from catering to coffee, ice cream, bread, and pizza but also furniture, tableware, formats and solutions for the hotel industry.
This year, along with the leading Ho.Re.Ca event, there will also be TUTTOFOOD, a reference point for the agro-food sector. This makes the “expo menu” even richer and more complete.
Facing a juncture such as the current one, where the industry is getting ready to establish the foundations of the new hospitality, this opportunity becomes truly unique. In addition to the latest novelties in terms of equipment, where sustainability and energy savings will play a leading role, there will be room also for Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things, proximity and social commerce, big data, and robots and automation; thus, introducing a vision of the present and future to the large audience of professional visitors who meet every two years in Milan. Attention will go in particular to the products and services that won the prestigious Smart Label, Host Innovation Award, the recognition granted by Host – Fiera Milano and POLI.design sponsored by ADI, Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (Industrial Design Association) for the solutions capable of anticipating the trends of the future.
However, HostMilano, is not only a huge expo, but it has become, for several editions now, a window on the state of the art of the various markets and sectors, thanks to the busy agenda made of hundreds of training and informative events, techno-cooking, performances and competitions of high innovative and artistic content embodied by some of the greatest pastry chefs and ice cream makers, chefs, baristas and latte artists, but also an occasion for meetings, workshops and conferences held by major industry associations and consultants.
Among the participants is “Pasticceria di Lusso nel Mondo” (Luxury Pastry in the World) by Iginio Massari that will bring some of the best pastry chefs in the world centre stage, offering a workshop-conference where the paradigms of innovation will be discussed even in the pastry-making sector. International championships such as the Cake Designers World Championship and the World Trophy of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate organised by FIPGC, the International Federation of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate and yet again the Panettone World Championship by the Masters of Natural Yeast, the World Championship of Milk Art Grading organised by Latte Art Grading System and ALTOGA, National Association of Coffee Roasters and Importers of Coffee and Food Wholesalers, are all high profile events.
While the expo will take place in full safety – following a plan carefully drawn up months ago – HostMilano has already launched a series of activities to monitor all the supply chains and identify, through their protagonists’ feedback, the best practices to help the operators make the best business decisions. An approach to the expo made possible thanks to the Fiera Milano Platform, a set of touch points designed to improve the experience and encourage meetings between exhibitors and visitors and all HostMilano stakeholders.
In addition to the Observatories, the periodic newsletters and the Ambassadors whose task it is to collect the trends from the four corners of the world as they emerge, HostMilano is organizing a series of webinars, both national and international, as part of the training path and in-depth analysis of the main current topics in the sector. The most recent one, regarding the eCommerce segment, was held on January 28 and gave voice to a market that in 2019 reached €544 billion in BtoB in Italy alone and €22.7 billion in BtoC in 2020.
The importance of innovation to grow and face the challenges of the future has never been bigger. Therefore, HostMilano is a truly unique opportunity to review the situation and prepare for a relaunch.

How high quality indoor air positively benefits our health? Find out
2020 has been a rollercoaster year for many businesses that had to adapt the services they offer and find innovative solutions to meet the needs of their customers whilst at the same time ensuring their safety. Caparol Arabia is one the many companies in the Middle East that joined the fight against COVID-19 by proposing new eco-friendly products such as CapaCare Protect to curb the impact of the virus and promote healthy living. Martin Roscha, Managing Director at Caparol Arabia, discusses with us how paints that are free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can be complementary to a healthier lifestyle and hence play a central role in the protection of our environment and well-being.
Improving Indoor Air Quality For A Healthier Lifestyle
Air pollution is globally known for causing death. According to a study from Greenpeace, there are 4.5 million annual premature deaths worldwide due to polluants released by high-emission power station and vehicles exhausts. The Middle East registers 65,000 deaths each year due to pollution. However, did you know that in fact indoor air polluants are known to be more prone to lead to health hazards than outdoor? The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ranked indoor air pollution among the top five environmental dangers. Market research shows that pollution caused by construction penetrates buildings and thus impacts people’s health.
What is often overlooked is the interaction between paint and indoor air quality, and the importance to carefully select the right paint solution. In the midst of the coronavirus global pandemic, as its consequences continue to unfold, we have a renewed understanding of the significant role the buildings play in promoting public health and wellbeing. Healthy painting is directly correlated to healthier lifestyle. It is known for providing peace of mind during moments of relaxation in your home.
Conventional paints mostly contain of toxic products, and as a result, people are repelled by the smell and often have to wait a few days before being able to habit the room. But even once the smell has passed, other problems remain due to the composition of these paints: certain heavy metals, solvents, petroleum derivatives, etc. These volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are still harmful to our health and environment even when the paint has dried.
On the other hand, eco-friendly paints significantly reduce any harmful impact, and their design is particularly beneficial to the environment. Their manufacture displays a less toxic footprint than conventional paints, and they are completely odorless and are easily applied on all surfaces. Eco-friendly paints are also permeable, letting the walls breathe and yet also creating a perfect finishing and a great lifespan. Contrary to certain common beliefs, being natural doesn’t prevent these paints from delivering a great performance.
Indoor air quality should not be taken lightly, especially in the GCC where people are exposed to high levels of indoor air polluants. This is mainly due to the fact that these countries record high temperatures that force people indoors for many months of the year. Today, the impact of COVID-19 has driven this trend further. Air pollution can cause serious health side effects that can result in respiratory diseases such as asthma or even lung cancer. When it comes to indoor pollutants, the greatest concern are VOCs. The top source of VOC emissions coming second only to vehicles is paint. At high concentrations, these VOCs prove to be very harmful to residents who have been exposed to them for a long time. These VOCs are released into the indoor atmosphere from paints containing solvent. It is the solvent (one of the basic components of all paints), which released into the air pollutes the latter.

Why LED technology is the future of indoor digital signage? Let’s find out
Across the MEA region, indoor display advertising has become one of the most traditional yet highly effective ways to advertise new products, help customers navigate a store and reinforce a brand’s identity.
When compared to any other form of indoor signage, LED has proven to be more efficient, valuable, and useful for diverse indoor applications. LED signage is becoming more attractive to business owners who are looking for digital displays that provide high resolution and advanced technology.
When choosing digital display signage for business, there are many options to consider. However, LED signage has exceeded all expectations with robust technology, colourful display and innovative solutions. For these benefits, it is recommended to opt for LED Signage to guarantee the best quality and experience.
Jassim N P, regional manager for LED, LG Electronics Middle East and Africa, shares some of the reasons why indoor LED signage is the best option for interior display needs. He shares: “When businesses invest in LED signage, it offers a valuable, informative tool to potential customers and can be optimised for visual meetings, conferences, and workshops. Businesses can advertise specific aspects and can help customers find what they’re looking for. It can also bring attention to a new product line and other relevant information. LED signage can control the message and establish a brand’s identity through its display.”
He further adds: “The technology of LED signage allows operators to change messages daily. Some of these boards are known as electronic message centres that give a limitless ability to display new products or any new information that business owners want to communicate with their customers.”
Another reason for their popularity is that the LED screens have started to replace flat screens and projectors in meeting rooms. With bigger screens and wider color spectrum, it has become the ultimate presentation tool to display content without lines or distortions, providing a more immersive visual experience.
LG introduced numerous indoor LED signage displays with a full model line-up, ranging from super fine-pitch to standard indoor pitch for diverse indoor application including stores, restaurants, conference rooms, hotels, theatres, museums, and more.
Featuring pixel pitches of 0.9mm to 3.9mm, LG indoor LED signage models deliver high brightness capabilities, seamless images and excellent viewing quality. It is also compatible with LG software solutions for boosting business management efficiency, easy installation methods and up to 100,000 hour lifespans.
