Dubai-based furniture supplier Chelsea Green appoints Jennie Stallings to a senior position
Chelsea Green, the Dubai-based furniture consultant and supplier, has appointed Jennie Stallings as partner and commercial manager. Stallings has over 25 years’ experience as an ergonomic specialist, wellness consultant, residential and commercial interior designer, across the United States, the Middle East, and Africa.
Stallings has focussed on creating spaces where people can thrive throughout her career, inspiring her to establish her own wellness consultancy, BeWELL in 2019. She is a certified WELL Accredited Professional who sits on the Movement WELL Advisory Board with the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI).
Now in its fifth year of business, Stallings’ appointment comes as Chelsea Green enters a new phase of growth. It has also undergone a recent brand refresh to reflect its evolution and demonstrate its commitment to workplace wellbeing.

Philip Gillard joins HBA MENA in senior role
Leading hospitality design firm HBA has announced the appointment of Philip Gillard as the principal and managing director of HBA MENA. Based out of HBA’s Dubai studio, Gillard will lead Middle East operations and will help develop the group’s expansion in the region.
As a RIBA Chartered Architect With 25 years of industry experience, Gillard has successfully produced and managed a diverse portfolio spanning architecture, interior design, and master planning; with projects ranging from high-profile hospitality and residential to retail and commercial design across the region.

With significant experience working in the Middle East, Gillard’s market knowledge and sensibilities will support and champion HBA MENA’s continued strategic growth. His appointment comes after the launch of a new studio in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in October 2020, which opened as a response to rising demand for HBA’s services in the region.

Darryl Custer joins KEO in a senior role
With over 30 years of global design and management leadership experience, Darryl Custer brings a high level of expertise as a senior design operations executive striving for “best in class” results for KEO’s clients.
Custer said: “I always consider it a great honour when a client entrusts me with their project investment and my goal as director of the design division is to do whatever I can to deliver on the promise.”
Earlier, Custer was a part of the Callison RTKL Asia Limited – Hong Kong, where he focussed on new client development, local recruiting, design and project management oversight and leadership for an office of 40 full-time staff serving multiple sectors (Healthcare, Retail and Commercial) through multiple service lines (Master Planning, Architecture, and Interior Design). Some of his key projects included Van Don SEZ Master Planning Project in Quang Ninh, Vietnam; Hannam D3 Mixed-Use Project in Seoul, Korea; Lippo Bekasi Berat Mixed-Use Project in Jakarta, Indonesia; amongst others.

Light Touch PLD appoints Maurizio Ciavolella as senior lighting designer
Light Touch PLD has appointed Maurizio Ciavolella as senior lighting designer at its Dubai office.
Ciavolella took his master’s degree in Architecture at the University of Naples, Italy. He found his passion for lighting during his university years, and after his graduation he continued his specialisation in lighting design with a second level master’s in the University of Rome. He collaborated with various design firms and then founded his own studio.
With a strong design and managerial background, and in his effort to further develop his career, Ciavolella relocated from Italy to the UAE to join Light Touch PLD’s team of designers.
“Maurizio, with his decades of experience, does not cease to inspire and to stay excited about his work and projects” says Andrea Acciarresi, associate director. “He immediately integrated with the team and is a trusted leader.”
