Luis Fernandez: Meaningful Experiences Enriched Through Design

Luis Fernandez is a hybrid-creative at the core, always seeking meaningful experiences enriched through design. His signature design style of clean minimalism, functional and futuristic modernism creates a statement that is timeless, balanced and elegant; always reflective of the client’s lifestyle and function; an aesthetic that he has become known for: tech + tailored.

Luis has an extensive history as a creative director and architect and fashion designer. Focused on building brands that create experiences + products + spaces for the consumer of the future: “branding” through image, space, innovation, content and experiences.

Luis thrives on the multi-disciplinary nature of his experiences through his creative design agency @LUISFERN5, consulting on creative direction, strategy and design services; working on various branding, retail/residential architectural design, experiential activation projects and NFT/Metaverse projects.

Luis grew up in Miami and studied Architecture at Cornell University, he started his career as an architect in NYC at the renowned design firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF). He later joined Jeffrey Hutchison + Associates (JHA), where he was the Project Architect for the Barneys New York flagship stores in San Francisco and Las Vegas. He further transitioned into Fashion and Creative Direction, co-founding NUMBER:Lab, a brand that proposed a tech + tailored design sensibility, blending athletic performance with tailored sportswear; pioneering what has become the ‘ATHLESURE’ mainstream. As the Creative Director of Craft Atlantic, a Men’s Designer brand, he garnered noticeable press and established a core business while visioning the brand’s ethos and Artistic Direction and designing and curating its’ concept store and experiential activations in the West Village of New York City.

He was inducted into the CFDA [the Council of Fashion Designers of America] in 2011, and his designs have garnered an incredible amount of recognition including The New York Times, NBC, Esquire, GQ, ELLE Decor, and Departures Magazine. Luis spends his time between Los Angeles and New York City.
