The Dimore Studio: Designs From Milan
One of the Best Interior Design duos in the world is Dimore Studio. Creative, romantic, and cinematographic the Milan-based studio was founded by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran in 2003. It started as a small interior design studio as a cult place for only an elite group of experts, transformed over time into a globally celebrated phenomenon.
Emiliano Salci is from Tuscany, Italy, and Britt Moran is from the United States. As Moran started out his career as a graphic designer, Salci worked as a furniture designer and subsequently made his first steps in the fashion industry. Research is mostly driven by their personal sensibility fused with an uninhibited yet extremely controlled eclectic approach resulting in precious and dreamy atmospheres. In Italian, the word “Dimore” means abodes or dwellings, but it also evokes nostalgia.
When Dimore Studio started out, the pair occupied a single room and employed just one assistant. Today, they oversee a staff of 20 in a 2,100-square-foot space. Is an internationally renowned design studio for its work with big names in the design and fashion industry. Dimore Studio has collaborated with Hermès and Bottega Veneta; designed the hip Casa Fayette hotel in Guadalajara, Mexico; imagined menswear brand Boglioli’s first US flagship (in Noho), and created a range of covetable furniture pieces for Cappellini.
In February 2014 they transformed their apartment into a gallery for the furniture collection they’ve designed and decamped to a new space in Milan, which overlooks the garden of Piero Portaluppi’s modernist masterpiece, Villa Necchi.

The trademark is the moves between art and design, fashion and architecture that spans from Art Deco to the 1970s. They combine different materials and areas maintaining a dialogue between the past and the contemporary. Dimore Studio tends to use rich materials like silk and velvet, unusual colors from dusty tones to jewel-like hues. The duo launched its first textile collection in 2016. It interprets memories and creates dreams. Crosses the boundaries between art and design, fashion and architecture.

Kristina Zanic Consultants designs Accor HQ; inspired by fascinating Parisian mansions
Kristina Zanic Consultants has designed a stylish new office space in Dubai for French hospitality group Accor.
The headquarters office for India, Middle East, Africa, and Turkey features a newly refurbished reception and corporate hospitality area that welcomes visitors in a sumptuous style rarely seen in workplaces, and blurs the lines between hospitality and office design.
Accor appointed Kristina Zanic Consultants to help realise its vision for the new space to be an accurate reflection of its brand ethos, and to display the same luxury elements and feel as seen in its exclusive hotels and resorts around the world.
The scope involved the design of a 300sqm area to host meetings with partners, collaborators, and VIP guests for its luxury brands. It included a lift lobby, reception and lounge, spacious conference area with food and beverage facilities, informal meeting space with relaxed social areas, and two lavish guest washrooms.
The new corporate hospitality area reflects the group’s expertise in delivering luxury hotels and gives a taste of the Accor guest experience. Visitors stepping out of the elevator doors are immediately immersed in a sophisticated ambience of sumptuous velvets, natural marble, intricate wall paneling and gold detailing.
The design is inspired by the exclusive Parisian mansions that showcase haute couture collections, and pays homage to extravagant French luxury and timeless character. A colour palette with a black and white base has pops of colour added through rich jewel tones of warm rusts, mustard yellows and midnight blues used in the bespoke lounge-style furniture and carpeting.
Although the dominant style is classic, it also blends in touches of mid-century and contemporary de-sign in the lighting and furniture selections. This is demonstrated further in its eclectic collection of artwork, focusing on style and fashion that adorn the meeting room walls and corridors.
“This was a one-of-a-kind project to work on where we got to translate the luxury hospitality aesthetic into an everyday office space,” said Justin Condon, design director at Kristina Zanic Consultants. “We’ve designed luxury hotels and offices before, but never one that is a perfect blend of both. The challenge was in finding the right balance between creating an experience of luxury hospitality but also delivering on the functionality needed from an office space.”
“Workplaces more than ever are expected to embody a company’s brand and work culture. The standard run-of-the-mill designs are completely out the door today, and are being replaced by highly customised spaces that reflect personality, promote well-being, and enhance collaboration and productivity.

H2R Design’s latest project echoes a serene ambience and positive vibes
H2R Design has revealed details of yet another of its design and branding projects completed in recent months, NETTE: a French Japanese restaurant located in MATCHA Club, Al Quoz’s newest boutique padel and movement club.
Indulging the interests of its cultural and trendy clientele, the venue blends seamlessly within the context of MATCHA, and has been inspired by the net, the court, and the game of padel, as well as the tranquil serenity of the destination, whilst also being functional as a dining space.
Hasan Roomi, co-founder of H2R Design said: “NETTE is in the heart of MATCHA Club, one of the most talked about new spaces and experiences in Dubai, and so the design really needed to match the beauty and ambience of the rest of the Club. We have not only focused on an aesthetically pleasing design, but we have also used the natural surroundings (the open space, the light, the greenery, yoga studios and views of the padel courts) to create a functional space that still works for the dining operation. NETTE is a fantastic example of how our design team have put the customer experience first, whilst also creating something beautiful.”
The space of NETTE itself evokes the tranquil ambience of the brand perfectly. A rectangular design with floor to ceiling windows, it has an abundance of natural light that is blended beautifully with hues of terracotta, as well as green, grey and natural beige tones, skilfully kept as minimalist as possible to let the materials and furnishings set the scene.
To complement MATCHA Club’s distinct geometric style of artistic furniture and lush landscaping, habitual materials have been used as much as possible to contrast the industrial feel of the surrounding area, resulting in an urban sanctuary in the heart of the Club.
Stunning marble has been used throughout the entire space but most notably on the coffee bar, the custom-made communal table that holds court in the centre of the interior space, and the outdoor planters in the courtyard, each handcrafted with colours such as Travertino Red with accents of Gaya and Indian green. These details and accents seamlessly tie the overlook look and feel together, offering a depth of intricacy to match all tables, shelves, counter and waiter stations.
Paying close attention to every element, the restaurant also comprises tasteful greenery and citrus trees, essentially bringing the outdoors in to enhance the overall feel of nature and tranquillity. The space is also home to impressive touches of wood, which is accompanied by accents of aged effect copper and black details, providing an extra layer of warmth and cosiness.
Building on the relaxed narrative, the outdoor area is situated under a beautiful, shaded courtyard and seats up to 43 guests. With the use of natural light and a statement Mango tree in the middle, the intimate yet social space will appeal to anyone looking for a moment of zen in the concrete jungle.
The branding of NETTE itself also reflects the casual and yet elegant effortlessness of the space and dining experience. Inspired by the padel courts (used as a grid to collect the logo mark), as well as the geometric design of the space and its interiors, the typography is simple and yet edgy, whilst the colour palette evokes the same tranquil feeling that guests feel when arriving at the venue. The geometric shapes have also been used throughout the visual identity, in a way to blend seamlessly with the space.

Casa Milano has now forayed into the kitchen segment with its bespoke designs and smart storage solutions.
Starting out as a luxury sanitaryware and tiles retailer in Dubai, Casa Milano has now expanded its product & service portfolio to offer complete home solutions encompassing design and decoration of indoor as well as outdoor spaces.
The brand now showcases elegant & modular kitchen designs in collaboration with Arredo3, one of the largest kitchen manufacturers in Italy. Each of them is offered in 150 colours, customers can have a glance at several designs at the brand’s recently inaugurated Abu Dhabi showroom as well as its primer showroom in Dubai.
The kitchen showcase has its own dedicated spaces within the showrooms, its designs comprise modern, classic and, contemporary styles to masterfully blend with the design language of the properties and yet stand out in terms of its top-notch quality of the materials and meticulous craftsmanship.
The brand offers the modern styled material range in matte, gloss and high-gloss finishes while the contemporary styled materials have finishes comprising of high-resolution wooden finishes with laminates and veneers crafted from natural layers of tree bark and the classically styled material range offer a plethora of solid wood frames to choose from and vintage handles accentuate the look.

New Zealand Pavilion celebrates sustainability with amazing designs
New Zealand’s Expo 2020 Dubai pavilion’s hosting venues – The Cooperative Room, The Courtyard and restaurant, Tiaki – are home to some of the country’s best-loved sustainable brands for lighting, soft furnishings, tableware, and furniture. Curated by pavilion architects Jasmax, each bespoke design object reflects New Zealand’s Expo theme of ‘Care for People and Place’ – the indigenous Māori environmental ethos of kaitiakitanga and the idea there is a deep, inextricable connection and responsibility between people and the environment.
Located in Expo’s Sustainability District, the design story begins at the pavilion’s kinetic façade by Kaynemaile, which moves in time with a low-frequency sound to create a rippling pulse effect. This is a reference to the mauri, or life-force within the pavilion – a Māori worldview that everything has a life principle.
The pavilion’s custom type rauponga-inspired design was developed by Jasmax in partnership with Haumi. The lines, notches, and curves of the design represent the extended fern frond and are often seen depicting the ribs of an ancestor symbolising protection, care and connection to the land. This type design features on the wayfinding throughout the pavilion and on Tiaki’s bespoke chairs by Jasmax in collaboration with Resident and Simon James. The sustainably-sourced solid oak seats are a limited-edition collection designed especially for Expo 2020 Dubai and an homage to the ‘Osaka Expo Chair’ designed by Michael Payne for New Zealand’s Pavilion at Expo 1970 Osaka. Lightweight in both form and visual imprint, the 2020 seat and backrest are defined by a gentle, welcoming curve.
Upon entering Tiaki, the David Trubridge ‘Navicula’ aquamarine pendant light fittings immediately stand out as statement features in the restaurant. The designs are inspired by microscopic diatoms, or algae, which live in water and produce 50 percent of the air we breathe. David Trubridge is a recognised leader in sustainable design for his high-end lighting that is produced with minimal environmental impact.
Showcasing the country’s innovative, sustainable spirit, the pendant at the restaurant reception is a custom biopolymer made of rare pāua shells, the Māori name given to New Zealand’s unique variety of Black Foot Abalone native to its waters. The bioplastic Trubridge light was developed by Scion, a New Zealand Crown research institute that aims to promote and create a circular bioeconomy.
Città, the artisan design team that created Tiaki’s tableware, furniture and lighting pieces strives to create unique pieces that are made ethically, sustainably, and with respect to the provenance of the raw materials. Its comfortable Aiko Sofa and stylish Linear Tables, designed by David Moreland and Nikolai Sorensen, offer a relaxing space within the restaurant’s Courtyard area. And the striking AB Pendant Light, with its simple, organic form, is a collaboration between Città and award-winning New Zealand designer Alex Buckman.
Celebrating clean, simple and functional design are the Tim Webber Designs Nixon barstools and Duffle stools – furniture to be treasured now and forever.
Abodo eco-timber battens, fins, and panelling bring a soft, warm touch to the eatery’s interiors. Abodo timbers are sustainably harvested from rapidly renewable New Zealand plantations and thermally modified with heat and steam rather than chemical processes, meaning they’re safe for people and the environment.
“The hosting venues’ design not only showcases our ideas and culture but New Zealand’s spirit of ingenuity and creativity. As kaitiaki (guardians), New Zealanders believe we have a responsibility to leave the world in a better place for future generations – and we can see this in the shared sustainability ethos of the design companies specified by Jasmax. These companies are always innovating at every step of the design process to improve outcomes for the environment and for all of us,” said Clayton Kimpton, New Zealand’s Commissioner-General to Expo 2020 Dubai.

4SPACE Design’s new workplace encourages well-being and fosters a sense of belonging for the team
4SPACE Design has unveiled its new office at the Jumeirah Lake Towers, which exudes a sense of well-being and belonging. Neutral monochromatic schemes and a large breakout area with games and relaxation space for the team to draw, breath, and find a sense of peace from a busy day.
Concept
“When brutalism meets minimalism with a twist of industrial”. 4SPACE has paired unfinished concrete breeze blocks with a smooth monochromatic pallet and verdant trees to nod to biophilic living. Richly covered modern furniture, exposed piping, stainless steel accessories, and fluorescent lighting create exciting spaces for work, meetings, and play.
Various design elements
The 4SPACE Design offices are exciting. The exposed breeze block walls are treated with sealer material to enhance and preserve the brutalist look. It’s raw, unfinished, and playful. Modern angular lighting bounces light throughout the open spaces and communal workstations. The central atrium of the offices boasts a beautifully preserved, semi-artificial olive tree that has been hand-fashioned by craftsmen in Dubai. The trees have come from historic groves across the region. Olive trees are known to flourish until they are several thousands of years old. Introducing biophilic design elements into a space can help alleviate stress, improve cognitive function, and enhance mood and creativity. The space is multi-functional, with open spaces for teams to assemble, but the team can create private spaces with impressive pivotal doors for important meetings.
About the execution
This project was extraordinarily fast and only took a month to complete. It was a complete family affair where the 4SPACE design team, contractors and suppliers all contributed to the seamless execution of the new office space. Each person provided valuable support to achieve the tight timeline for the transition from the old offices to the new. About the ambience The 4SPACE office has the appeal of a solid but inviting fortress. The distinctive concrete modernism provides lighthearted intrigue yet is minimalistic and intimate. The office is set amidst endless city skyscrapers. As a result of the open workspaces, the office possesses spectacular views across the Dubai waterfront and the iconic Dubai Eye.
Challenges overcome
Contractors struggled to manoeuvre 2.70-metre glass partitions in the elevators; their hard work and brave efforts have created a remarkable installation. The concrete flooring was quite challenging; it had to be poured, dried and levelled precisely. From the questionnaire, the entire design process and construction took a mere 45 days.
Unique and key features
There are many focal points, but the most exciting key features are the olive tree, concrete and exposed breeze blocks, the neutral monochromatic colour scheme and the open ceiling concept with exposed industrial metal piping.

و لذا سنتحدث عن كيفية جعل الحمام مكان رائع و مريح و يساعد على الاستجمام من خلال التصاميم لعام 2021 .

1- الأجهزة الصحية
الأحواض :
-تستخدم إما غاطسة أو بارزة لأعلى فى حالة وجود أسفلها وحدة تخزين أما قديما كانت تستخدم بأرجل .
-كما أصبح اليوم يتم تصميم أشكال متنوعة و كثيرة منها و بألوان متنوعة و ليس فقط الأشكال المعتادة .
المقعد :
-أصبح يفضل تصميمه غير مثبت على الأرض و لكن مثبت فى الحائط حتى يسهل التنظيف .
-كما يتم وضع وحدته مدفونة داخل الحائط لجعل الحمام نظيف و مستوى .
-كما أصبحت تأخذ أشكال مختلفة و منها أصبح الذكى .
البانيو أو الشاور :
-البعض يفضل البانيو و الأخر الشاور .
-من حيث البانيو فأصبح يصمم كثير منه منفصل و غير مثبت و مدفون كما المعتاد .
كما أصبح شكله غير سيميترى و أخذ أشكال جديدة .
-الشاور تطور وحداته و أخذ أشكال متعددة أيضا .
وحدات التخزين المعلقة :
هناك وحدات تكون مغلقة بالكامل و تقسم إلى ضلف أو ضلف و أدراج .
وحدات التخزين المفتوحة و هى جزء منها مغلق و جزء مفتوح لوضع المناشف و غيرها و تكون إما أسفل الحوض مباشرة أو أسفل وحدة التخزين .
المقابض :
– يمكن استخدام المقابض كمعلقات لتعليق المناشف .
– يمكن التخلى عنها و جعل سطح وحدة التخزين صافى .
الإضاءة فى الحمامات الحديثة :
1- أفضل مكان لوضع الإضاءة هو أن تكون مواجهة لوجه الإنسان حتى يرى وجهه بوضوح .
2- لا يفضل جعل الإضاءة علوية حيث سترمى الظلال على الوجه و هذا غير محبب .
3-نظرا لهذا فإنه أصبح الآن يدمج إضاءة داخل المرآة لوضوح الرؤية .
4- كما يتم وضع إضاءة خلف المرآة أيضا و تعطى إحساس بالدفئ .
5- يمكن أيضا استخدام وحدات إضاءة معلقة فى مستوى الرؤية أو استخدام الأباليك .

3- حمامات حديثة ملونة
– بدأت الحمامات فى إدخال الألوان فى التصميم بطريقة جريئة و أنيقة .
– والابتعاد عن الحمامات البيضاء الهادئة لإدخال بعض المرح و الحيوية .
– و استخدام ألوان مثل( الوردي الفاتح – الأصفر الذهبي – الأزرق الداكن – الأخضر الزيتوني )
و هى من الألوان التريند لهذا العام 2021 اللتى سبق و ذكرناها .
4- بلاط مترو الأنفاق
– يعتقد البعض أنه ممل حيث أنهم متأثرين بشكله القديم القليدى و هو بلاطات بيضاء لا يميزها شئ .
– و لكن تصميه أصبح أكثر حداثة لهذا العام حيث يبتعد عن شكله التقليدى .
– أصبح يمكنك استخدامه بألوان مختلفة و بتجميعات مختلفة في خطوط رأسية أو أفقية أو مائلة أو الجمع بينهم .
5-بلاطات بأشكال هندسية :
استخدام بلاطات بأشكال بلاطات رسومات هندسية كبيرة جريئة و بأشكال هندسية و بألوان مختلفة لإنشاء أنماط معقدة وجذابة .
يمكن استخدامها فى الأرضيات و الحوائط و تكون ملفتة للانتباه بصورة كبيرة .
6- الأرفف الغائرة :
– نظرا لأننا أصبحنا لا نريد أن نرى مواسير الصرف و بروز الأرفف و المقابض أيضا و أصبحنا نتجه إلى أن تكون الأسطح نظيفة ملساء .
– فإننا نستغل بناء حائط لوضع إمداد و صرف الأجهزة الصحية و نفرغ أجزاء منه لجعلها أرفف و كأنها مبنية داخل الحائط .
7- المواد المستخدمة فى تصميم الحمام 2021 :
و نظرا لأننا ذكرنا أن الاتجاه للتصاميم لهذا العام تتجه إلى الطبيعة فإن المواد الأكثر استخداما هى الطبيعية أو ما يحاكيها .
لعناصر الأكثر استخدامًا لعام 2021 هي( الخشب – المعدن – البلاط – التيرازو – الرخام ) .
الخشب :
تستخدم فى الأرضيات و الحوائط و الأثاث من وحدات داخل الحمام .
و لكن نظرا لأن الخشب من المواد اللتى تتأثر بالرطوبة فأصبحت المصانع تهتم بذلك بتصميم سيراميك أو بورسلين أو الفينيل بأشكال الخشب حيث تعطى نفس الشعور و لكن بخصائص السيراميك المقاومة للرطوبة .
و فى حالة استخدام الخشب فى الأثاث فإنه يتم معالجته بحيث يقاوم الرطوبة و لا يتلف سريعا .
يفضل الخشب حيث يعطى إحساس الارتباط بالطبيعة كما يعطى الإحساس بالدفئ اللذى يصدره البلاط .

الرخام أو الحجر :
– يأتى الرخام من المواد المستخدمة فى الحمام بأشكاله المتنوعة حيث يتوفر بأشكال كثيرة متنوعة و أسعار متنوعة .
– و يتم تصميمه بشكله الإنسيايى باندماج البلاطات كأنها قطعة واحدة .
– كما يتم استخدام الحجر ليس فقط فى الأرض و الحوائط و إنما فى أسطح وحدات الحمام أيضا .

المعدن الذهبى و النحاسى :
