Order of Magnitude by artist Jitish Kallat kicks off the 2022 edition of Ishara Art Foundation
Ishara Art Foundation opens 2022 with Order of Magnitude by Jitish Kallat, the artist’s first major solo exhibition in West Asia and the Levant. Running from February 16 to July 1 2022, the exhibition includes new works that include paintings, multimedia installations, drawings and site-specific interventions, the exhibition reflects Jitish Kallat’s profound deliberations on the interrelationship between the cosmic and the terrestrial. Jitish Kallat’s oeuvre sits between fluid speculation, precise measurement and conceptual conjectures producing dynamic forms of image-making. Using abstract, schematic, notational and representational languages, he engages with different modes of address, seamlessly interlacing the immediate and the cosmic, the telescopic and the microscopic, the past and present. In Order of Magnitude, one finds a contemplation of overarching interconnectivity on the individual, universal, planetary and extra-terrestrial dimensions.
The viewer is first confronted with Integer Studies (Drawings from Life), which run through the space resembling both the horizon and the equator. Since the beginning of 2021, Kallat followed a ritual of making one daily drawing as part of a durational study in graphite, aquarelle pencil and gesso stains. Each work comprises diverse forms anchored by the same three sets of numbers: the algorithmically estimated world population, the number of new births, and the death count noted at the particular moment of the work’s creation. Human life and death are abstracted in drawings that are both graphic and painterly, prompting questions of extinction and evolution. Seen alongside these studies is a wall-sized painting titled Postulates from a Restless Radius, whose perimeter takes the form of the conic Albers projection of the Earth. The work begins as an unstable, cross-sectional grid (in aquarelle pencil) that opens up the globe on a flat plane. There is no cartographic intent here; in place of planetary geography it assembles signs and speculations, at once evoking botanical, suboceanic, celestial, and geological formations. Postulates from a Restless Radius is an exploratory abstraction of forms that suggest signatures of growth and entropy.
Jitish Kallat: Order of Magnitude will be accompanied by physical and virtual tours, educational and public programmes, a newly commissioned text by Amal Khalaf and artist conversations over the duration of the exhibit.

The life at a Lake House is everything that we can dream about, the big porch, the lake view, the long walks lake side or through the woods. In a few words the perfect vacation plan for any family in any time of the year.
But how it looks the perfect lake house? Is it tradicional? Is it modern? Who ever you choose this are our choices, a mix of style that combine perfectly into what we think to be the perfect place by the lake to enjoy quality time with the ones we love, or alone.
The perfect Porch
The porch is without douts one of the most caracteristic architecture features. We prefer it in the lake side, normally in the back of the house, with a confy seat area to enjoy a glass of wine by the the sunset.
Large Windows
Whats the point of having a house by the lake if you dont have nice large windowns to apprciate it?
Wood Interiors
There is no lake house without a rusty touch interior design. Wood is the main choice for comun spaces. The theme macth perfectly with the vibe.

Fireplace
Coziness is the shot-term for a fireplace side reunion. Taking a break from the rebellion of the days and enjoying a bit of silence, with a nice fire burning and setting the calm mood.
Relax in the Harbor
Is the perfect place to jump in the water, catch a tan, gather with friends, and just enjoy.

Carpets CC launches limited edition ‘The Uncle Collection’
Carpets CC by Cecilia Setterdahl launches an unusual carpet collection, The Uncle Collection. This collection consists of three delightfully unique carpets. They are available in a hand-tufted 100% New Zealand wool and limited edition with 10 pieces available per design.
Three Uncles, in neutral colours and earth tones, make up the collection.—Uncle Theodore, Uncle Fred, and Uncle Richie.
With the COVID-19 limiting travel globally, Setterdahl was naturally drawn to thoughts of her family, who, like so many, she was separated from. Whilst working on a bespoke creation for a client, she found herself experimenting with flowing lines. It was only when she took a step back from her art that there in front of her was her favourite uncle from her childhood – Uncle Theodore, and so the Uncle Collection was born.

What 42nd edition of HostMilano has in store for us? Let’s find out…
Fiera Milano is in constant contact with its partners under a phygital perspective. Waiting for the in-person event that will take place safely from October 22 to 26, 2021, it is essential to understand the future of the HoReCa sector.
Innovation, sustainability, training: this year, more than ever, these are the keywords that will echo through the pavilions of Fiera Milano Rho from October 22 to 26, 2021. Now in its 42nd edition, HostMilano is the global expo that, in a single location and for five days in a row, brings together the latest news from the hospitality and travel sectors ranging from catering to coffee, ice cream, bread, and pizza but also furniture, tableware, formats and solutions for the hotel industry.
This year, along with the leading Ho.Re.Ca event, there will also be TUTTOFOOD, a reference point for the agro-food sector. This makes the “expo menu” even richer and more complete.
Facing a juncture such as the current one, where the industry is getting ready to establish the foundations of the new hospitality, this opportunity becomes truly unique. In addition to the latest novelties in terms of equipment, where sustainability and energy savings will play a leading role, there will be room also for Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things, proximity and social commerce, big data, and robots and automation; thus, introducing a vision of the present and future to the large audience of professional visitors who meet every two years in Milan. Attention will go in particular to the products and services that won the prestigious Smart Label, Host Innovation Award, the recognition granted by Host – Fiera Milano and POLI.design sponsored by ADI, Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (Industrial Design Association) for the solutions capable of anticipating the trends of the future.
However, HostMilano, is not only a huge expo, but it has become, for several editions now, a window on the state of the art of the various markets and sectors, thanks to the busy agenda made of hundreds of training and informative events, techno-cooking, performances and competitions of high innovative and artistic content embodied by some of the greatest pastry chefs and ice cream makers, chefs, baristas and latte artists, but also an occasion for meetings, workshops and conferences held by major industry associations and consultants.
Among the participants is “Pasticceria di Lusso nel Mondo” (Luxury Pastry in the World) by Iginio Massari that will bring some of the best pastry chefs in the world centre stage, offering a workshop-conference where the paradigms of innovation will be discussed even in the pastry-making sector. International championships such as the Cake Designers World Championship and the World Trophy of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate organised by FIPGC, the International Federation of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate and yet again the Panettone World Championship by the Masters of Natural Yeast, the World Championship of Milk Art Grading organised by Latte Art Grading System and ALTOGA, National Association of Coffee Roasters and Importers of Coffee and Food Wholesalers, are all high profile events.
While the expo will take place in full safety – following a plan carefully drawn up months ago – HostMilano has already launched a series of activities to monitor all the supply chains and identify, through their protagonists’ feedback, the best practices to help the operators make the best business decisions. An approach to the expo made possible thanks to the Fiera Milano Platform, a set of touch points designed to improve the experience and encourage meetings between exhibitors and visitors and all HostMilano stakeholders.
In addition to the Observatories, the periodic newsletters and the Ambassadors whose task it is to collect the trends from the four corners of the world as they emerge, HostMilano is organizing a series of webinars, both national and international, as part of the training path and in-depth analysis of the main current topics in the sector. The most recent one, regarding the eCommerce segment, was held on January 28 and gave voice to a market that in 2019 reached €544 billion in BtoB in Italy alone and €22.7 billion in BtoC in 2020.
The importance of innovation to grow and face the challenges of the future has never been bigger. Therefore, HostMilano is a truly unique opportunity to review the situation and prepare for a relaunch.

Khadija Al Bastaki, executive director of d3, said: “2020 has presented us with a rare moment to pause and reflect on the role of design. Dubai Design Week will establish a dialogue around these critical social, cultural and economic issues. It will offer new opportunities for the Middle East by providing a platform for local and regional talent. We look forward to deepening our support for the industry and have high hopes for the inaugural d3 Architecture Festival in partnership with RIBA Gulf Chapter, which will provide an important reflection point for Dubai, the UAE and the regional creative ecosystem.”

In pictures: The 2020 edition of the International Garden Festival, Canada
The 2020 edition of the International Garden Festival at the Reford Gardens was a discreet event in this very special year, which will remain anchored in our memories, both individually and collectively. Although the five design teams, chosen from among 200 following our international call for applications, were unable to travel to Grand-Métis in June, the Festival team nonetheless built their installations so that visitors of the Reford Gardens could enjoy the “métissages” they had imagined.
Métisages, “cross-breeding”, theme of the 2020 edition, in the context of contemporary gardens can be of practices (landscape architecture, garden design, architecture, visual arts, industrial design, cuisine and other fields of creative expression), plants (native or exotic) and materials (natural and manufactured). This mixity of approaches enriches and excites, creating new opportunities for exploration.
